Thanks Rich - found that one on line - appears to be quite different - 1032 looks to have solid state bridge rectifier structure - could be the one I have was modified as the xfmer is disconnected for some reason - just starting to research it - I might have to draw my own schematic to see what was done in it before me - not sure if original owner was trying to modify it or troubleshoot it or what - mainly want to find out what it is supposed to be - rather surprised there is not a schematic on line somewhere - must not have been a very popular supplyGriz. Well - finally found a copy of the manual thanks to real nice guy on e-bay - so in the manual the voltage on the positive terminal of C2 is stated to be +42 v - based on that I am not sure what I need for a transformer as I am not able to locate the Eico part listed above - What does the AC output voltage of the xfmer need to be to provide the 42 volts - 42-0-42 or does it need to be higher? Thanks in advance for your inputs -It had better not exceed 50 volts peak, as the filter capacitors are only rated for 50 volts. So the maximum RMS output voltage would be 50/sqrt(2), or about 50.
0.707 = 35.35 volts. You need some margin, say 15% to cover line voltage and load variation, so I'd use nothing larger than a 30-0-30 VAC transformer. Peak voltage on C2 for such a transformer would be 30. sqrt(2) or 30. 1.414 = 42.42 volts. Assuming the voltage specified in the manual is the no-load voltage, that checks. So: a 60 volt center tapped transformer (30-0-30 VAC).Steve Byan.
